If you want to experience real African magic, a stay at the Mzigi bushcamp is an absolute must. The longer you stay, the more nature will cast her spell on you. The rustic simplicity of the camp is what makes it so magnificent, by really giving you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the sounds, smells and beauty of the bush.
Five thatched ‘A-frame’ huts, sleeping up to 10 in total, surround a central gazebo that hangs right over the Gwahumbe River. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas stove, fridge, utensils and washing area. Ablution facilities include hot showers and a flushing toilet. The camp is lit with LED lights throughout but nights are best spent under the stars around a crackling fire in the camp boma.
The camp is equipped with:
- Mattresses
- Battery-Operated LED Lights
- 2 x Hot Water Shower
- 1 x Flush Toilet
- Small Kitchenette with Gas Cooker, Small Gas-Operated Fridge & Sink
- Basic Utensils
- Braai Boma
Review from Noleen H
“If you want to “rough it” in the bush with all the sweet comforts and tranquillity then you really need to take your family to the Bush camp at Gwahumbe. Complete privacy where the silence of the bush is all you need to restore your soul and breathe in deeply. The staff are absolutely amazing and genuinely attentive and kind. You need a 4 x 4 to get to the camp but what fun we had doing the trails and spotting animals. Love Love Love!!!”
